Confidentiality

What you share in sessions is held in confidence. This is central to therapy and I take it very seriously.

There are a small number of situations, common across the profession, where I may need to break confidence: where there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, where a child or vulnerable adult is at risk, or where I am required to do so by law. I will always talk with you first where it is safe and possible to do so.

I attend regular clinical supervision. During supervision your work is discussed anonymously and my supervisor is bound by the same ethical requirements.
